Transmission Loss in dB/Hertz - 1/3 Octave Bands
Fire codes often require a door that allows both doors to remain operable, independently of each other. This allows for maximum egress in case of a disaster. This door model is equipped with a split style astragal, which allow the doors to function in this way. Typical, doors utilizing these seals are equipped with surface vertical rod exit devices. Concealed type hardware is not recommended.
Isolated Edge Construction
This door uses an Isolated Edge construction, which separates the two outer door skins from each other. A strip of neoprene is installed between the two door skins, reducing the amount of sound transmission through the actual steel faces. The seal is notched between the hinge and lock cutouts and does not interfere with hardware cuts.
Single "H" Perimeter Seals
This door is equipped with our patented single Super "H" door sealing system. It consists of a single compression type perimeter seal, along with a metal retainer and cover. Compression seals typically offer higher acoustical ratings The seal is composed of a felt/neoprene combination that forms a tight perimeter seal.
Super "H" Door Bottom
Overly's super "H" door bottom is the only choice for unbeatable sound control. Always used in conjunction with our cam-lift hinges, this door bottom compresses tightly against the floor. We recommend smooth level sealing surfaces for this door bottom. Uneven or abrasive flooring may prematurely wear the door bottom. A smooth raised threshold is recommended when using this door bottom.
UL Fire Ratings
In addition to acoustical testing, Overly has successfully tested this product to the latest UL fire test standard UL10C/UBC 7-2 (positive pressure).
